Wilson Lim

Wilson graduated from the University of Southampton, UK with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2004. He chambered with M/s Skrine in Kuala Lumpur and M/s Chau & Thien in Kota Kinabalu before practising as a legal assistant in M/s Shim Pang & Co. in Tawau. Wilson joined the firm as a partner in year 2010.

He was called to the Malayan Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in year 2006 before being admitted to the Sabah Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah in 2007.

Wilson has experience in a wide variety of commercial and corporate disputes resolution. He also has experience in labour laws and banking matters. He also practices general conveyancing and corporate advisory work involving acquisitions of shares, advising on corporate structuring, setting up of companies and joint ventures.

Wilson is the Past President of the Rotary Club of Tawau Tanjung. Currently, he is serving as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for SJK (C) Sin Hwa, Tawau and the legal advisor to the Chinese Chamber of Commerce (Tawau), Persatuan Teo Chew (Kota Kinabalu) and the Soon Clan Association (Tawau).

Chung Yaw Vui

Chung holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Accounting degree from the Oxford Brookes University, UK, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, UK, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of London, UK and a Master of Laws from the University of London, UK.

Chung was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple as a Barrister of Law in July 2005 and was admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah as an Advocate on 17.1.2007. He was a legal assistant in M/s Alex Pang & Co. from 2007 until January 2010, and he then joined us as a partner.

Chung practises in commercial and civil litigation, corporate law, property law, estate matters and general conveyancing. His approach emphasizes innovative planning and practical solutions to complex issues. He has appeared both as counsel and co-counsel for trials and hearings at the High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court.

Chung is the legal advisor to Persatuan Klan Chung, Tawau, Sabah and the Tawau Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Zahbia Binti Ophent

Zahbia graduated from the University of Malaya, Malaysia with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2005. She was admitted to the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah on 17.1.2007.

Zahbia was a legal assistant in M/s Johari & Zelika. In 2008, she co-founded M/s Aisah Zahbia & Co.

Her areas of practice include criminal and general litigation as well as general conveyancing.

Jason Lee Zhen Yeap

Jason is one of the Managing Partners of Lim Chung & Zahbia. He is also a Commissioner for Oaths.

Jason’s areas of practice include all matters related to real estate and land in Sabah, covering the entire value chain of transaction involving real estate. Jason also practices banking and finance, commercial and corporate advisory, private equity and project financing advisory work focusing in the property and construction sectors.

Jason graduated from the University of West of England, Bristol, UK with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2006.

He was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court in Malaya in 2009 and was subsequently admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah in 2014.

Jason is also a regular speaker in corporate and training events.

Jason is a member of the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu.

Sophie Lim Meow Yin

Sophie graduated from the University of Reading, United Kingdom, with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2007. She obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) from the Legal Profession Qualifying Board of Malaysia in 2008.

Upon obtaining the CLP, Sophie commenced her pupillage in the firm of Messrs Sia Mojilip & Nasir of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. She completed her pupillage and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah in December 2009.

Thereafter, Sophie continued her legal practice in the firm of Messrs Sia Mojilip & Nasir up until June, 2017 before joining us as a partner in July 2017.

Sophie’s main areas of practice are general conveyancing and has extensive experience in handling commercial and corporate loans, project finance, Islamic finance, among other things. She has experiences in cases involving real estate transactions including acquisition, disposal, leasing, joint ventures, and financing.

Larina Wong Shiao Yee

Larina holds a Bachelor of Law with Honours conferred by the Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom. She commenced her pupilage with Gideon Tan Razali Zaini in Kuala Lumpur and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 21.2.2009.

She then commenced her pupilage with Messrs Lim Guan Sing & Co., Sabah and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak on 9.12.2009.

Larina returned to Kuala Lumpur in 2010 and commenced practice as a litigation lawyer with Messrs James Khong. In the subsequent year, she returned to Messrs Gideon Tan Razali Zaini where she pursued the corporate and conveyancing field and handled a wide spectrum of conveyancing related matters, retail and corporate loan financing, commercial and corporate agreements, tenancies and leases and probate and succession related matters.

Larina brings along with her invaluable commercial insights and experiences from working as a legal counsel for 4 years in CIMB Bank Berhad and 1 year in Samsung Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd prior to joining the firm as a partner in April 2019.

On 1.7.2022, Larina has been appointed as a member of the Malaysia Tribunal for Consumer Claims.

Joanne Liew Chee Kar

Joanne graduated from the University of West of England, Bristol, UK with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2006.

She was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court in Malaya in November 2009. Her legal practice began in M/s Lee Choon Wan & Co. in 2009 where she was made a partner therein in year 2013.

Joanne was admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah on 18.9.2015 and she then joined us.

Joanne is managing our conveyancing division of our office at Kota Kinabalu. Her area of practice also includes dealing with matters pertaining to corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, joint ventures, regulatory and corporate compliance, capital reductions and drafting of commercial contracts.

Joanne currently sits on the board of directors of a public listed company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

Jonathan G. Lim

Jonathan graduated from the University of Leeds with a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and was called to the English Bar by the Honorable Society of Middle Temple in year 2011.

He was subsequently admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah in year 2014.

His area of practice includes banking and finance, debt recovery, family law and general conveyancing.

Von Hui Shing

Hui Shing graduated from the University of Reading, UK with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2016 and was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple as a Barrister of Law in November 2018. She was then admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah as an Advocate on 18.2.2020.

Hui Shing’s main areas of practice are general litigation and conveyancing.

Ameera Nadia Binti Reduan

Ameera holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons) degree from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Syariah Law and Practice (DSLP) from the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam.

She was then admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah as an Advocate in April 2021.

Ameera’s main areas of practice include general litigation and conveyancing.

Jessie Chin Yen Fei

Jessie graduated with the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of London in 2017.

She then obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) from the Legal Profession Qualifying Board of Malaysia in 2018. Jessie was admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah in 2019.

Jessie’s main areas of practice include conveyancing.

Valerie Ong Siew Hwa

Valerie holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) degree from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom. She was admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah in February 2004.

Valerie’s areas of practice include general conveyancing, banking and finance, consumer, commercial and corporate loans, project finance, Islamic loans, joint ventures, real estate transactions, wills, tenancies and leases.

Joey Chin

Joey graduated from Cardiff University, Wales with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2019.

She was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple as a Barrister of Law in March 2021. She was then admitted to the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in the state of Sabah as an Advocate in June 2022.

Joey’s main areas of practice are general litigation and conveyancing.

Grace Fong Yi Jing

Grace graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Kent in 2016 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2018. She was admitted as an advocate of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in 2019.

Grace’s main areas of practice include real estates, banking and finance and will drafting.
